The objects of the Association are:
(1) Promoting the Deception Bay Conservation Park (DBCP) within the local community and surrounding areas. (2) Actively engaging with the traditional owners of the area to promote their involvement in the management of the DBCP and on broader natural resource planning and policy development for the conservation park. (3) Assisting the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) by monitoring the park and providing volunteers to assist Rangers in conservation based activities. (4) Lobbying all levels of government to ensure the additional funds made possible by the land swap are utilised to provide appropriate infrastructure that will benefit the park and the local community and that appropriate additional funds are made available to ensure the ongoing management and development of the park. (5) Working with the community and the QPWS to suggest suitable types and locations for appropriate visitor infrastructure. (6) Organising events, based around the DBCP, such as guided walks to educate visitors and residents. |
